Coil racks — coil chocks, coil bunks, whatever your yard calls them — work with hardwood timbers to cradle a metal coil so it cannot roll or walk on the deck. 8 gauge hot rolled steel, painted black, 33.25 inches long.
Worth knowing: metal coils have their own securement rules (49 CFR §393.120) that replace the general ones, and they are specific about how a coil is chocked, cradled and restrained depending on whether the eye runs crosswise, lengthwise or vertically. Chocking is part of the requirement, not an alternative to it.
