High Performance Crane Rope
The latest high performance rotation-resistant rope designed and manufactured by CASAR Germany, a member of WireCo WorldGroup.
Starlift Xtra was added to the CASAR range to meet the highest minimum breaking forces the crane rope market asks for, and it gives the user a set of characteristics no ordinary hoist rope matches.

CASAR, a WireCo WorldGroup brand — made in Germany- Rotation resistance
- The balanced design results in minimal torque under load. Within a normal working load range the rope has virtually no tendency to rotate, which makes it suitable for single-part and multi-part hoist systems alike, including those involving long falls. It meets the Category 1 requirements of ASTM A1023 and the guidance on swivel use in Annex A of ISO 21669, and because of those rotation resistant properties it may be used with a swivel.
- Resistance to wear
- The multi-strand design, combined with compacted strands and lang lay construction, maximizes resistance to wear by greatly increasing the wire and strand surface area that contacts sheaves and drums. Internally, the enhanced surfaces of the compacted strands minimize strand-to-strand nicking between strand layers, and that is what gives the rope its fatigue resistance.
- Resistance to crushing and abrasion on drums
- The same characteristics carry into multiple-layer spooling. The design gives excellent resistance to the abrasion and scrubbing that happen at kickover areas and the crushing that happens at crossover points. The construction plus the compacted strand design produce a rope cross-section of very high density, and that density is what resists drum-related wear.
